THE FARM
Three Rivers is a small, chemical-free vegetable farm located on land leased by Principia College in Elsah, IL (just off the scenic River Road; a 10 drive North from Alton).
Our mission is to provide a local source of naturally grown food through practice of sustainable agriculture. We strive to produce good quality, fresh and diverse produce at a fair price. At the same time enriching the soil and nurturing the local ecosystem through sustainable practices free from chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides. Three Rivers Community Farm is a place where kids and adults can connect with how, where and who grows their food.
HOW IT WORKS The concept of Community Support Agriculture (CSA) is simple. Each member of the farm buys a "share" of our season's harvest. This fee supports the running costs of the farm and allows us, the farmers, to make a living wage doing the work that we love. In return, the farm supplies a weekly share of fresh, naturally grown produce.
When you sign up you agree to being our customer for the year, thus providing us a secure market. We in exchange, dedicate ourselves to being your farmers, growing the best vegetables the land can offer.
SHARED RISK, SHARED REWARD CSA is a shared risk (drought offers less produce) and a shared reward (ideal growing conditions yield and abundance). As a member, you share, through the veggies, the farmer's experience of nature's giving or taking.
